What a winter?.. It started early, before Thanksgiving and stayed way to darn long, with our last blizzard in April. Now it is SPRING, I hope.
The campground wintered well, but as a board we have ordered some necessary improvements. We replaced the roof on the club house and bath house just in time. We had leaks into the tar paper but fixed it before it reached the wood in the roof. Money for this project came from our campground maintenance fund. It will not only keep the rain out but help keep our pool cleaner with no stones from the roof running into the pool.
With the resignation of Al Holody, due to a new permanent job, the board hired a new manager. We hired a guy named ?Joe?. He comes with experience in the area and a friend to us all. We are so pleased to have Joe Sampson home with us. Joe will start when the water is turned on.
Right now our plan is to have water turned on by the weekend of April 23. If the weather is bad we will wait until the next week. We don?t want any repeats of freezing pipes like we had in 2009.
TREES FOR SALE: With the emerald ash bore in full swing in our park we have the possibility of losing 85 trees. Last year we cut down about 10 and we know the problem will only get worse. I contacted a local tree grower and can obtain trees for a cost of $50.00 each. The trees are locally grown to resist disease and insects. The trees will be different varieties of Maples. They will have at least a 2-inch plus trunk and be delivered to the park in early May.

If you want trees, let Steve or I know as soon as possible so we will have a definite number.

We have great campers in our park and I know 2011 will be a great year. I can?t wait.

Our General Membership meeting will be Sunday, May 29, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the clubhouse.

WIFI IS BACK
To get started, members wanting WIFI will need to pay a onetime start up fee of $50 to cover equipment cost and thereafter pay $30 for a six month season (May 1 to October 31). The WIFI connection is done on an individual basis and is not associated with Windy Hill Campground. Memorial Weekend
There will be a guest singer at the campground on Memorial weekend. Steve Howe will be playing and singing along on Friday and Saturday night up on the hill by the Horseshoe pits. Come join the fun. Everyone is welcome!!
